Original Short Beaked Echidna "sebastian"

This original took me more than 100 hours to produce, the artwork will come signed with a certificate of authenticity, Framing can be arranged prior to shipping and is included in the purchase price.

Artwork was completed in Aug 2020.

It is 250mm x 250mm drawn on Arches 300gsm hot press, using rotring archival inks.

Some Backstory:
I drew this whilst recovering in hospital from a flare up of my bone disease, whilst in hospital an indigenous Australian man that I was sharing a room with was watching me slowing doing this artwork, it took me more than a week. During our discussions he taught me about how his people track and hunt the echidna. I had no idea that these little guys live in the area of Western Australia that I live so once I was recovered enough to do some bush walking I took my son “hunting” (photograph and observe only). It took me a few weeks but we finally found one lumbering along eating and having a great time. Its still one of the coolest things I have ever seen. We continue to go out regularly looking for them.
